Renowned neuroscientist Dr. Alvaro Cruz struggles to accept his mother’s death from Alzheimer’s - the very disease he has given his life to understanding. Unable to move beyond the tragedy of his mother’s illness and death and his own deepening regrets - Cruz is trapped within the haunting puzzle of an evolving dream, seeking escape in the streets of his adopted and cherished home of New Orleans. He is confronted by sounds of music from another time, by the jazz genius of an aged French Quarter street singer, Una Vida, and by the stark realization that she, too, has Alzheimer’s. Motivated by compassion and the controlling force of his dreams, Cruz seeks to unravel the mystery of her past and in the process find redemption...before the music stops.
